Chair - Barry Davidson -
Barry currently
holds several professional positions such as the
Executive Director of the Community Life Improvement
Council (CLIC), Senior Advisor for the Canadian
Crime Prevention Centre and a Senior Security/Safety
Advisor to the Amtac Professional. Barry is called
upon regularly to submit opinions, articles and
interviews across Canada, the US and Australia on
various areas of CPTED, crime and risk management.
He is a CPTED (Crime Prevention Through
Environmental Design) Practitioner & Senior
Instructor and holds an honors Diploma in Police
Sciences with a background in criminal psychology.
He was recognized as a ritual abuse/cult expert by
CAN (Cult Awareness Network) and has received the
President's Award from the ISCPP and recognition
from the City of Calgary CCIT for his work. He works
extensively in the area of CPTED (Crime Prevention
Through Environmental Design) and is the founding
member and the current Executive Director of the
International CPTED Association.
Barry sits on several corporate boards and advises
to multiple political organizations, politicians and
community leaders.
Barry served with the Calgary Police Service in
Communications and the Victim Assistance Unit and is
a third generation Calgarian whose roots go back to
the first CN Stationmaster in Calgary. He is active
in the community sitting as the Chair of the
Community Action Committee (CAC), the advisory body
of 130+homeless serving agencies that advise on
policy and funding to the Calgary Homeless
Foundation of which he is also a Board Director. He
gives his time to service organizations such as the
Cosmopolitan Club of Calgary, Big Brothers, Kinsmen,
Diabetes Association (Foothills), Children's
Hospital Foundation and others. He is active in
municipal affairs, founding the Graffiti Response &
Information Team (GRiT) and advising political and
community leaders. His personal passion is in
community engagement, leadership and empowerment.
Specialties
Recently he has taken on
strategic & organizational roles in the
political realm, successfully managing municipal
& provincial campaigns and offering strategic
advice to provincial war rooms. His experience
includes management level involvement in the
1988 Winter Olympics, World Petroleum Congress,
G8 & direction of security teams for dignitaries
such as Condoleeza Rice, Dalai Lama, F.W. de
Klerk, Jan Eggeland, US Vice Pres Al Gore, Sec
of State Colin Powell, Queen Noor of Jordan &
corp leaders.

Secretary - Katie Franczak
- Katie attended the University of Calgary and holds a BA
Communication Studies, With Distinction. She spent 5 years working in the
Special Features department at Spruce Meadows, the world-renowned equestrian
facility, coordinating entertainment and special feature programs on and off
the field. She was privileged to showcase world class events and
entertainers including; Olympic Dressage Riders, the World Police and Fire
Games, British Military Bands and Mounted Troops, High School Marching
bands, and the RCMP Musical Ride.
Katie has 3 wonderful and active kids
and manages a typically busy family. All of the family is very involved in
sports and Katie volunteers her time between hockey and ringette, swim club
and triathalon. Katie homeschools their children, teaches classes at the
Phoenix Centre for Learning and is the Secretary of the Board of Directors
at Phoenix Home Education Foundation. Katie is also a NCCP Certified Coach.

in Assurance Services, Shaun has extensive experience conducting audit
engagements for a variety of clients including First Nation governmental
organizations, not-for-profit organizations, public and private corporations
servicing various industries including oil and gas production and services
companies, manufacturing, technology and various other owner-managed
businesses.
Shaun has over fifteen years experience
in public practice and two years experience as a Controller with a national
company. He earned his Chartered Accountant designation while working in
Regina, Saskatchewan. Shaun joined MNP’s Calgary office in 1999.
